How to Host a Charity Bake Sale (Without the Stress!)
Throwing a bake sale doesn’t mean you need to be a master baker. In fact, some of the best treats are the simplest ones—think gooey brownies, flapjacks, or a batch of cookies fresh from the oven.
And if baking isn’t your thing? No problem! Buying a few sweet treats is absolutely okay. The goal is to raise funds for a cause you care about, not win a baking competition.

Start with a Little Planning
Pick a date and a spot that feels right—maybe your kitchen table for a cozy home sale, or a corner at work where everyone passes by. A friendly space makes people feel welcome.
Gather Your Baking Crew
The more goodies you have, the more fun (and funds!) you’ll create. Ask friends, family, or colleagues to join in. People love helping when it’s for a good cause, so don’t be shy—spread the word! Social media, WhatsApp groups, or even a quick chat over coffee can work wonders.
Spread the Word
Make it cheerful and inviting. A few colorful posters or flyers can catch attention, and sharing a photo of your treats online will get people excited. You could even ask local businesses if they’d like to chip in or help promote your event. Post your event on Facebook. Tag Speed Of Sight and we will share it too.
On the Day
Set up a table that feels warm and welcoming—maybe a bright tablecloth, some handwritten labels, and a little jar for extra donations. Bundle deals (like “3 cookies for £2.50”) are a great way to encourage people to buy more.
Afterwards
Celebrate what you’ve achieved! Share how much you raised and thank everyone who helped. A quick post with a photo of your bake sale can inspire others to do the same.
