My name is Drew Hanslow, founder of Drewpy Designs. I have Albinism and Nystagmus causing poor vision therefore meaning I will never be able to obtain a driving licence. Motorsport is my passion and I fulfil that passion through gaming and eSports, racing for Team Yearone on Gran Turismo and IRacing, often ranking in the top 3% worldwide despite my disability.

I first got involved with Speed of Sight in September 2015 when I took part in my first drive at the Three Sisters circuit. It is a day I will never forget, the feeling of freedom, of being let loose on a race track, something I had always dreamt of. Since then I have participated in multiple track days at circuits like Anglesey, the Jurby Ciruit on the Isle of Man and one close to my heart, Silverstone, the home of British Motorsport.

In 2021 I wanted to help raise money and awareness for the charity. I did so by challenging myself to drive 200 laps of the famous Nurburgring Circuit virtually on my simulator, the event took 36 hours with around 29 hours of nonstop driving. The following year to celebrate 10 years of the charity in 2022 I completed 10, 10 hours races on the simulator spread out over 10 days.

The money raised by these events has helped change the lives of over 40 participants with sight loss and other disabilities. The support given to the charity means the absolute world too me, and I'm over the moon and immensely proud to be joining the charity as an ambassador and continuing to spread awareness for the incredible work the entire team do.
