Mike Hyde long term Volunteer raises funds
Mike Hyde is running 100k in 30 days throughout July to raise money for Speed Of Sight, a charity that he volunteers for, Mike Hyde, who has learning difficulties and has recently struggled with his mental health, began running 5k each day in July and has reached the halfway point, already reaching his target of 100k, but he is continuing to run to smash his target and keep fundraising. Mike has also pledged to run an additional 10k from his home to the Speed Of Sight headquarters in Bolton on 31st July to celebrate his achievement and raise even more funds for the charity. Mike has a target of £1,500 on his Go Fund Me page, with £300 being raised for the charity already. People can donate to this fundraiser here: https://gofund.me/c3b37fd3 Based in Bolton, Mike is running around the town and documenting his running journey on Instagram: www.instagram.com/reachmikehyde/. Mike said: “The last two years of my life have been a tough ride, which mostly comes down to the constant uphill battle that I've had with my mental health and general wellbeing. “Yet there's been one shining light that has always cheered me up, and that's being involved with a charity like Speed Of Sight who I've volunteered with for more than seven years now as video producer. They’re a family away from home in my eyes and have supported me throughout this entire ordeal. “The 100k in 30 days challenge came about as a way to better myself and give back to this phenomenal charity, who are constantly going the extra mile to make the impossible... possible. Currently, I'm more than halfway into this challenge, and while my legs are beginning to ache, it's a rewarding and positive feeling each time I complete a run. “Every day I've shared my journey online and continued to see improvements in how I feel. Plus the constant support I’ve gotten from everybody has only spurred me on to run even further because every kilometre that I manage to cover... matters! I know that whatever money I can raise for Speed Of Sight, it will go a long way in helping to change people lives, which I've seen firsthand at their outstanding track days. “So any support that you can give towards this challenge of 100k in 30 days, will be much appreciated!”
