Speed of Sight 2026 Season: Dates Announced and Ready to Book

Speed of Sight 2026 Season: Dates Announced and Ready to Book

The wait is over. Our 2026 season dates are now live, and we have got ten track days lined up across four circuits throughout the UK. It is set to be our biggest season to date, and honestly, we could not be more excited about it.

For those who are new to us, Speed of Sight is a charity that gives children and adults living with disabilities the chance to get behind the wheel and drive. We are talking about people who may never hold a driving licence, or who have had to give theirs up because of their condition. Visual impairment, physical disabilities, cognitive conditions. None of that matters here. What matters is the person in the seat and the smile on their face when they realise what they can do.

Our founder, Mike Newman BEM, was born blind. He went on to set multiple Guinness World Records, including driving a car at over 200mph. People told him it was impossible. He did it anyway. That same spirit runs through everything we do at Speed of Sight, and it is the reason our motto has always been disability does not mean inability.

What Happens on a Track Day

On each of our track days, we have sole use of the circuit for the entire day. That means when you arrive, everyone you see is there for Speed of Sight. Our volunteers and staff will be on hand to meet you at the welcome point, which is usually in the spectator area. From there, you can watch the cars on track, get a feel for the atmosphere, and complete a bit of paperwork before your drive.

We have eight specially built vehicles in our fleet, including five racing cars and three all-terrain buggies. Every car has dual controls and twin steering wheels, and most are fitted with hand controls too. An approved driving instructor sits alongside you throughout, introducing you to the controls beforehand and guiding you during your 20-minute session. You do not need any previous driving experience at all. We will give you a one-hour time slot, and your drive takes place within that window, so there is plenty of time to settle in and enjoy the whole experience.

How to Book Your Place

It takes a couple of minutes. Head to our booking page at speedofsight.org/book-now, pick the event you fancy, and pay through our secure checkout. You will get a booking confirmation by email. One thing to bear in mind is that spaces are limited to one driving session per person per event. We do this so as many people as possible get the chance to drive. Some of our earlier dates already have very few spaces left, so if there is a particular event you have your eye on, get booked in sooner rather than later.

Why It Matters

Ask anyone who has been to one of our events and they will tell you it is about far more than 20 minutes behind the wheel. It is the atmosphere. It is the people. It is watching someone light up when they realise that something they thought was off limits is actually within their reach.

One of our regular drivers, Cat Martin, put it perfectly: "Being able to take part in the driving sessions is phenomenal; the feeling definitely stays with me afterwards, just long enough to last until the next time. It has given me the confidence to continue trying new things."

That is what keeps us going. Every track day, every new face at the welcome point, every moment where someone discovers they are capable of something they never believed possible. It never gets old.

Want to Get Involved?

Our track days would not happen without our amazing volunteers. If you fancy joining the crew, whether that is marshalling, helping with the cars, photography, or hospitality, we would love to hear from you. Find out more at speedofsight.org/support-us/volunteering

Businesses can support us through the Inspire Club from just £25 a month. It is a great way to give back while being part of a growing community of like-minded organisations. Details at speedofsight.org/support-us/become-a-benefactor. And if you would simply like to make a donation, every penny goes towards keeping these experiences running. You can donate at speedofsight.org/donate

Ten events. Four circuits. Eight months of track days from March to October. The 2026 season has something for everyone, whether you are joining us for the first time or coming back for another go. We have always believed that when people are given the chance, they can do things others thought were impossible. Come and prove it with us.
