Nicolas Hamilton

Nicolas Hamilton is a British racing driver who made his debut in the UK Renault Clio Cup in 2011, driving for Total Control Racing, and currently races in the British Touring Car Championship. He instantly gained a large fan base, and his first racing season was covered by a BBC documentary titled “Racing with the Hamiltons: Nic in the Driving Seat”.

Nicolas has cerebral palsy and races with a specially modified vehicle, just like ours at Speed of Sight! He is the younger half-brother of seven-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton and the first disabled driver to ever compete in the British Touring Car Championship.

In 2013 Nicolas moved up to driving a SEAT León Supercopa for Baporo Motorsports in the European Touring Car Cup, before finally securing a deal to race an Audi S3 for AmD Tuning in the British Touring Car Championship in 2015, becoming the first driver with disabilities to ever compete in the series. Since 2019 he has secured a full-time deal for ROKiT Racing with Motorbase Performance and retained his ROKiT sponsorship in 2020, racing under the Team HARD banner. In the second round of the championship, the final race at Brands Hatch Circuit, he attained his first ever British Touring Car Championship point!

Nicolas has competed at Silverstone Circuit as part of the British Touring Car Championship, has raced around a virtual Silverstone as part of a celebrity virtual British Grand Prix on the Formula One video game, and has now sped around Silverstone blindfolded as part of a track day with Speed of Sight, something he called “the best experience he’s ever had in a race car”!
