Stantons Update
Hello everyone!
It's Stanton here. Yes, that Stanton – Mike's retired guide dog, professional nap enthusiast, cuddle lover, and honorary motorsport mascot. Well, what a season we're having! We've gone past the halfway mark, and from where I'm sitting (usually somewhere comfortable and preferably in the shade), it's been absolutely incredible. Everywhere we've been, I've seen smiling faces, heard excited conversations, and watched people experience something truly special.
One of the best things about this season has been seeing so many happy people. Some arrive a little nervous, some can hardly contain their excitement, and some simply can't believe they're about to get the chance to experience a race circuit in a specially built and adapted car. But they all seem to leave with the same thing – huge smiles and memories that will last a lifetime.
As a retired guide dog, I've spent my life helping Mike gain confidence and independence. That's why I love being part of these events. Every track day is about giving people opportunities, creating unforgettable experiences, and proving that motorsport can be enjoyed by everyone.
I've met returning drivers who are more confident than ever behind the wheel, and I've met first-timers who discovered a passion they never knew they had. I've also received a considerable amount of fuss from volunteers, spectators, and participants. I can't confirm whether this is because I'm handsome or because I keep positioning myself in the hospitality tent.
The team has worked incredibly hard all season. While I'm mostly responsible for morale, napping, and quality control on any hugs available, everyone else has been busy making these events happen. Seeing the joy that these days bring makes all the hard work worthwhile.
And now, the excitement is building once again because next week we're heading north to Driftland Circuit in Scotland!
I've heard plenty about Driftland. Fast cars, great people, an amazing venue, and another opportunity to help create memories for participants and their families. The humans are busy preparing, checking equipment, organising schedules, and making sure everything is ready. I'm preparing too, of course. My training programme consists mainly of sleeping, stretching, and ensuring my lead is packed.
I know there are lots of people looking forward to joining us there, and I can't wait to see the smiles, hear the laughter, and feel that wonderful atmosphere that follows us from circuit to circuit.
As we head into the second half of the season, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported us so far – the participants, families, volunteers, sponsors, supporters, and all the wonderful people we've met along the way.
You've made this season something truly special.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to an important retirement meeting with my favourite blanket.
See you all at Driftland Circuit!
Paws crossed for another fantastic event.
